Regulation & Automation

Power transformation and regulation form the heartbeat of transmission and distribution networks.

Aamplix delivers heavy-duty power transformers up to 500MVA, precision instrument transformers, automatic voltage regulators, and advanced RTUs for complete grid oversight

OUR PRODUCT RANGE

Power Regulation & Automation

High-capacity power transformers, precise instrument transformers, AVRs, and SCADA automation units.

STABLE VOLTAGE & RELIABLE OPERATIONS

Automatic Voltage Regulators (AVR)

Voltage fluctuations represent a hidden threat to power distribution networks. When upstream transmission voltages vary a common occurrence in Uganda’s grid downstream equipment faces premature aging, reduced efficiency, and potential failure.

Aamplix’s Automatic Voltage Regulators maintain stable output voltage regardless of input variations, protecting transformers, motors, and sensitive loads from damage.

Our AVR solutions feature rapid response times, seamless tap-changing operations, and full SCADA compatibility for remote monitoring and control. Installation is straightforward, with minimal disruption to existing operations.

RATED VOLTAGE

Low Voltage (LV) to Medium Voltage (MV)

RESPONSE TIME

Typically < 1 cycle

STANDARDS & COMPLIANCES

IEC 60076-10, IEEE Std 141

  • Industrial Processes: Protecting sensitive machinery, control systems, and automation equipment from voltage variations that can lead to malfunctions or damage.
  • Power Generation: Ensuring stable voltage output from generators before connection to the grid or for local loads.
  • Remote Sites: Maintaining consistent power quality in locations with unstable grid supply or reliance on local generation.
  • Data Centers and Critical Infrastructure: Safeguarding continuous operation of servers, communication equipment, and other vital systems

REAL-TIME CONTROL

Remote Terminal Units (RTU)

Remote Terminal Units form the communication backbone of modern SCADA systems.

RTUs collect data from field devices—switchgear, reclosers, voltage regulators, metering units—and transmit that information to central control centers. Simultaneously, RTUs receive control commands and execute them instantly in the field.

Aamplix RTU solutions support multiple communication protocols (DNP3, Modbus, IEC 60870-5-104) and integrate seamlessly with existing SCADA infrastructure. Our RTUs feature a robust design for harsh field environments, redundant communication paths for reliability, and comprehensive security features to protect against cyber threats.

  • Electrical Substations: Remote monitoring of switchgear status, transformer parameters, and controlling circuit breakers for grid management.
  • Water and Wastewater Management: Controlling pumps, valves, and monitoring levels and flow in remote treatment plants and distribution networks.
  • Renewable Energy Sites: Collecting data from wind turbines, solar arrays, and battery storage systems for performance monitoring and control.
  • Mining Operations: Monitoring environmental conditions, equipment status, and controlling ventilation or pumping systems in remote mine sites.

PRECISION MEASUREMENT & REVENUE PROTECTION

Instrument Transformers

Accurately managing electrical grids requires scaling massive transmission currents and high voltages down to safe, measurable levels for protection relays, control SCADA networks, and billing meters.

Direct exposure to raw high-voltage lines poses extreme safety risks and destroys sensitive monitoring hardware.

  • Heavy Industrial Sub-Billing: Overhead and switchyard tracking systems for independent mining operations, metallurgical processing zones, and massive factory plants.
  • Renewable Energy Sub-Stations: Collecting and validating power generation data at utility-scale solar PV fields and wind array collector grids

CORE GRID INFRASTRUCTURE

Power & Distribution Transformers (Upto 500MVA)

Efficient bulk power transmission and localized distribution rely entirely on the seamless stepping up or stepping down of electrical voltages. Inefficient, poorly insulated transformers lead to massive technical losses, thermal degradation, and catastrophic grid failures. High-performance Power and Distribution Transformers solve this by leveraging advanced electromagnetic core designs and superior insulation systems to regulate voltage ratios with up to 99% energy efficiency.

Aamplix Power Limited supplies reliable Power and Distribution Transformers (Up to 500MVA) that have been rigorously tested in accordance with international standards
